Horizon Fitness T91 Treadmill Review

Arrived in good shape. Took several people to move it to desired location. REALLY important to do no unpacking until carton is in place.
Only tool needed was a box knife to cut straps, remove packing materials. The provided Allen wrenches were actually better quality than those in my reasonably well equiped shop. And, they are unusually large sizes so my shop now has several additions.
Followed assembly instructions scrupulously. No hassles and, working solo, had it running within 30 minutes, even after studying diagrams, thinking, studying parts, visualizing, reexamining diagrams in manual at each step. Parts for each assembly stage are separately bagged in numbered bags, a helpful touch. Absolutely no problems with pieces fitting once I got the assembly figured out and alignment of parts just right. Having a helper hold several of the parts in place would speed things up; I found myself contorted, bracing a piece with one part of my body while getting a bolt in place.
Any such machine is a compromise between stability (read, basically, mass), portability, and cost. I think the T91 is reasonable combination for home use. While heftier than some of the cheaper models, its spring loading lets anybody lift bed and role machine out of the way. Still, I am 6'5", weighing 215lbs: when going at a fast walk/slow jog (4 mph), 10% incline, pedestal book rack vibrates enough that I get nauseated trying to read my Kindle. So, exercise time lets me catch up on podcasts.
I do not use the treadmill to really run so don't know how it would handle that stress. I suspect it would be OK if user is not too heavy. Bed width and length work fine for a person of my size.
Clear instructions for maintenance along with lubricant necessary for initial 6-month tuneup. I really appreciate such touches rather than the manufacturers who try to pretend like their product will run forever with no attention necessary.
The fan is a very nice touch. The heartrate monitor gives erratic results, something I also sometimes find on the Cadillac models in health clubs. If this measure is important, I would recommend one of the chest-strap-wrist-readout gizmo's. Owner's manual suggests the same. Such monitors are very accurate and have come down a lot in price.

About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.
From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.
Many treadmills offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting cardiovascular benefits without requiring a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.
